I guess nobody's been in a talking mood recently!
We got a computer screen second hand on Thursday. It's huge 22 inches. It does make the sims look good though even it does mean I have to play in full screen, and change the resolution which makes it runs slower.

Tdy you'll be glad to know I've actually played a day of your legacy tonight. Took and hour to play from about 10pm to 7pm the next day though. Unfortunately Chicken has now passed. And she didn't even leave the 20k to her husband. That's romance sims for you I guess. Atleast there's less sims in the house now. Just Clay(elder), Deer(elder 2 days in), Dorian(elder 2 days in),Emu(adult), Edward(adult) Eel(Dorian's alien child) Flamingo(heiress,child dad=Edward)Fox and Ferret(twin toddlers dad= Ethan), Frog(baby dad+Edward). Apart the 2 separate F dads, I didn't know which guy to pick so I had her get pregnant with both. She only had a daughter (I'm doing a matriarchy)with Edward so he became the spouse.

I don't know what I am going to do with mine when Sims 3 comes out next month. I'll have to finish it up, thought I am only on the 'H' gen... I am wanting to purchase my own computer for Sims 3 and Spore (which I bought at the EA Store two days ago). But, I think I will leave Sims 2 on the public computer and do my legacy then.

Or you could do what Heather plans on doing and in the sims3 recreate your heir and continue on from there.

I've been away for a whooollle week and now I'm back so now I need to help fill up the spam thread with chatter cos it's not looking very talkative at the minute and we can't have that cos it's the spam thread so it's meant to be the most chatty thread of all the threads in the simshack and it's meant to be full of spammy goodness and random pieces of knowledgeable or not so knowledgeable joy and has everyone seen I has the featured post medal which is cool, yay me, I'm glad I wasn't away too long to miss it not that I'm sure how long I get it for, is it one featured post every week, anyway I had a great time but I really missed talking to everyone here in case you hadn't noticed yet not that there's anyone around I don't think ooh no wait there's Hez, (hi Hez!), can you tell that now I'm all excited and I've just realised I'm holding my breath while I type this as if I was actually saying it all in rl so I'm gonna have to wrap it up before I turn blue and pass out or something awful so I'll stop now, byeeeee!

We love Sho!

We're picking up our new dog on tues afternoon! As long as his vet check comes ok on mon. Cos we had a dog from them before we don't need a new home check. H e only arrived yesterday and we saw him just as we we're about tp go after doing a second round to re-check them all, when we saw him. And he's wonderful. The complete opposite of what we said we were planning on getting, but when you know you know. Rusty's 6 months old so he's still a puppy, but he hasn't exactly had a normal puppy experience, his previous owner had no dog experience and got him and realised that looking after a puppy and having a bedridden mother didn't go well together. But he's fully house trained and everything. Rusty is wonderful he's a collie cross, so named Rusty cos he has a few brown patches, he's mainly black and white though and he's really playful and energetic and pulls on the lead of course, but at the centre he's bound to be a bit weirder than he is at home. The whole stick and ball thing are lost on him. Poor thing, but we playing with him in the play area they have there where they do there training and rolling a ball for him and he would follow it up and slope watching it, so it shouldn't be too hard to get him to chase things. He's wonderful. It's deffiantly love with him. I can't wait. Of course I'm doing most of the walking cos I'm the only one without a job. But that's fine. I need to lose a couple of stone, well around 3-4 stone to be by target weight for height. And he's deffo gonna be a long walk dog. So happy! I'll take pics on tues when he arrives!

Rusty had his vet check today-they always do a vet check when a dog first comes in and he only arrived Sat so he had it this morning. The vet found a heart murmur.
So we can't bring him home yet cos they need to do more tests which may mean he needs an op, so it's gonna be a while. I just hope he's ok and it's nothing serious.

Puppies with heart murmurs generally grow out of them. We never jump to surgery until we're sure it's congenital. I am curious what else they are doing to him...? To diagnose a heart murmur, you just need to listen. Unless they want to do EKG's and Ultrasound, which I shocked that they would do on a pound puppy.

There doing blood tests and a scan. I think they have to have to test any of the dogs for any conditions before re-homing them cos otherwise they could get some angry people who discover shortly after adopting them that they have serious problems and vets bills. I dunno they have to do it anyway.

Poor little pupkins!! I hope he's okies!! I don't know if heart murmurs for pups are the same for humans or not but....in this case I'll hope they are, because from what I understand, humans with hm's generally do alright...My niece was born with one and she's just fine..You cna't even tell!

Rusty update:He has a hole in his heart which is larger than they expected. So his results have been sent off to a specialist for him to see what to do The vet said he couldn't be rehomed until it had all been sorted out so probably a week at least, and the specialist will decide what should be done next. They say the hole is probably congenital, and he'll have a shorter life expectancy. But we will still be able to adopt him when it all gets sorted out-just on a foster scheme which means they pay any vets bills related to his heart.

Awwww poor Rusty! I hope it's congenital like they hope (no idea what that means though ). At least you don't have to think about whether you can afford to take on an animal with a pre-existing condition like that because they will sort out the cost for you. Hopefully he will be able to come home with you soon

Aww poor little mite I'm glad your family aren't the type to just change your minds about owning Rusty cos he's a little extra work, at least he'll be going to a good home And it's great that they'll help you out with financily too. Best of luck to him!

Congenital means he's born with it. Murmurs are virtually the same as in humans, it just means the valves of the heart aren't closing all the way and they are allowing the blood to flow through the leaking gaps. It does make for a shorter life expectancy, but I don't think it should affect someone's idea to adopt him or not. But, that's my opinion.

I can understand why people wouldn't want a dog with health problems though.
